The HP Digital Sender c will reboot. Put a check in the New User box, and confirm the password. Remember the following important points: You can send only to computers of users who have registered user profiles.
For example, if you are not a registered user, you cannot send a document to your computer. The computer to which you are sending must be on and the HP Digital Sender C Link on it must be running and enabled. If typing in a filename at the Digital Sender, the filename can only be 32 characters maximum. If you see the icon in the system tray without an "X" the program is running and receive capabilities are enabled. If you see the icon in the system tray with an "X" the program is running but the receive capabilities are disabled. Right-click the icon and choose Enable receive. If you do not see the icon in the system tray, the program might or might not be running. If the program is running but the system tray icon is hidden, you can verify if the receive capabilities are enabled by double-clicking the HP Digital Sender Link icon in Windows Control Panel.
Click the Inboxtab, and ensure the Enable receive check box is selected. To send to a computer note: At any time before pressing GO to send the document, you can press Cancel or Back to return to the main screen without saving any settings. At the digital sender, log in if prompted and press PC.
If your name is in the Name field, go to the next step. OR Type your name in the Name field. The current Quality setting is shown in the upper-right corner of the display. If you used the glass, remove the page when it is finished. Then, place the next page face down on the glass and press GO. After the last page, press SEND. When the document arrives at your computer, it becomes a saved file in your default inbox location. View and work with the document in the target program or another program that accepts the file type specified in your user profile.
HP Digital Sender 9100c - Enabling and Sending to a PC
Now it is possible to authenticate users trying to send from the HP Digital Sender using a Web server. A Web server controls access to one or more of its resource items, pages, programs, or other objects. A browser-like client can request these on the computer or network. In this case, the browser-like client is the digital sender. The Web server can ask the browser-like requestor digital sender for user credentials, such as a user account name and corresponding password. Before returning the requested resource, the Web server can verify the user account name and password against a user account database, such as the Windows NT domain user account database, on the local computer or the Windows NT domain controller.
HP Digital Sender 9100C - How to Configure the HP Digital Sender to a LAN Fax
This is usually the hpfscan directory. This directory is either created by the installation of the LAN fax software or manually. Share this directory and make sure this directory can be seen from the computer on which the Digital Sender Service is installed. Make sure the user name has a password that never expires. Make sure the user name has "Log on as Service" rights. By default the administrator user will not have Log on as Service Rights.
